A MAN repeatedly banged his 17-year-old girlfriend's head against a wardrobe before sitting on her and throttling her.
Adam Green, 21, of Albert Road, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to assault.
He was bailed to July 28 for pre-sentence reports by Blackpool magistrates and warned he may be jailed.

Martine Connah, prosecuting, said that during an argument Green grabbed his girlfriend by the neck and pushed her head against the wardrobe several times.

He then gripped her throat with both hands, applying so much pressure she could hardly breathe.

She tried to phone the police secretly, but he took the phone off her and only agreed to let her leave after she promised not to go to the police.

When interviewed by police, Green said he was already on a course to learn how to manage his anger.

He said the course had helped, but he had lost his temper and flipped on the day of the offence.

Tony Slater, defending, said his client went to the police station voluntarily before officers started looking for him.
