A CONCERT by the band Enter Shikari at Blackpool's Winter Gardens had to be cancelled after parts of the ceiling fell in.
Fans waiting to see alternative the rock metal outfit were turned away from The Empress Ballroom after plaster started falling from the ceiling.

It happened as the Hertfordshire band was playing its pre-gig sound check.

A statement from the band's management, on the social networking website Facebook, apologised to fans and said the situation was "completely beyond their control."

Rather than performing band members spent some time talking to disappointed fans outside the famous venue.

It is expected the concert will be rescheduled, although no details have yet been given.

Fans have been told tickets will be valid for the rescheduled gig, or they will be able to get a full refund.
