Cups that cheer: Helpers at the Sue Ryder Coffee morning with the Mayor of Garstang, Coun Sandra Perkins

There was a real caffeine boost for a local charity and a chance for tired shoppers to relax and choose Christmas gifts in comfort.

The Garstang branch of the Sue Ryder shop benefited from the coffee morning in Guy’s Thatched Hamlet, when £325 was raised to help the charity’s valuable work.

The event was opened by the Mayor of Garstang, Coun Sandra Perkins, and shoppers were able to browse stalls selling Christmas gifts and decorative cookies, and take part in a tombola and raffle for a Christmas hamper.
