Most girls get taken on one first date-Victoria Lee was taken on three.

After meeting Kevin Rodgers on a night out in Stalybridge, Manchester; -Victoria noticing Kevin’s laugh, he noticing her little black dress - the couple decided to get to know each other a little more.

“Our first date was at the Black Bull in Fulwood, Preston,” says Victoria, a childminder and fimo artist, from Fulwood, “we then went on a trip to rainy Blackpool, listening to Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ and then went to the cinema to watch ‘Confetti’ - a film about marriage.

“It was three dates in one!”

Kevin, a C and D driver from Hyde, Manchester, seized the perfect opportunity to propose at Victoria’s 30th birthday party.

“It was a movie-themed fancy dress party,” says Victoria.

“He was dressed as Indiana Jones and I was dressed as Lara Croft and five months pregnant.”

After a couple of drinks to steady his nerves, Kevin got down on one knee in front of their family and friends.

“I was very happy and very emotional,” says Victoria, “must have been the hormones.”

Two days after Christmas last year, the couple were married at Ribby Hall Village, Wrea Green with their three year old daughter, Ava, in attendance as Victoria’s flowergirl.

“I created as much as I could myself,” says Victoria

“As Kevin’s nana had sadly passed away, and knowing how important she was to him and all his family, I wanted to celebrate the members of our family that were no longer with us, so I decided to name the tables after each of our grandparents and great grandparents, adding a photo of each couple on their wedding day.”

As her ‘something old’ Victoria wore a necklace Kevin’s nana had left to her.

The newlyweds took to the floor for their first dance to Al Green’s ‘Let’s Stay Together’.

“Our first dance was interrupted by all our guests doing the ‘Gangnam Style’ dance,” says Victoria.

“They were led, rather enthusiastically, by Kevin’s dad and it quickly turned into a dance off between the boys and girls.”
