The drop in the number of unemployed claimants in his comstituency has been welcomed by Wyre MP Ben Wallace.

Figures just released show the number of unemployed claimants in the constituency for November 2012 was 693, which is 108 lower than the same time last year and 21 down on October 2012. The figures are taken from the economically active population aged 16 to 64 and supplied by the Office of National Statistics.

Mr Wallace said: “This proves we are going in the right direction. Out of the 650 constituencies in the UK we are 635th.

“I am extremely encouraged by these figures and I hope this trend continues. David Cameron’s personal effort to increase exports and rebalance the economy is helping Wyre weather the storm.”

He added: “I continue talk to local businesses and get feedback from them, I believe it is extremely important to understand the challenges faced by employers.

“Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like me to visit your business.”
