Horsewoman’s third win on trot

Big win: Hannah Wild

Big win: Hannah Wild

A horse care expert and her team have scooped a major business award - for the third year on the trot.

Hannah Wild, of Great Eccleston, and her team at Supplement Solutions, took the Retailer of the Year award in the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) Business Awards, competed for by hundreds of firms across the UK.

It is the first time any business has won the title for three successive years.

Nominations by customers helped her to the finals, and judges asked suppliers and other contacts for their candid views of the business.

And they carried out “secret shopper” tests on her website – www.supplementsolutions.co.uk – which lists more than 5,000 nutritional supplements for keeping horses healthy.

The winners, from more than 4,000 nominations, were announced at a ceremony last Sunday, at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.

Hannah, launched her business eight years ago after working as technical manager for a manufacturer of horse supplements in Lytham.

Finding many horse owners wanted advice on keeping their animals in tip-top condition, she researched which products were the most effective.

Today, Hannah and her team supply her products worldwide from the company’s base in the centre of Great Eccleston.

“The best part was that it was our customers who voted Supplement Solutions into the finals, based entirely on their experiences in dealing with us,” said Hannah. “Although we rely on the web for selling products, we’ve maintained a highly personal side to the business and are always keen to chat and offer advice.

“This is a team effort and I’m absolutely elated about the win. “
