John set to move on

Well-loved local photographer John Hornby LMPA will be closing his premises on Derby Road on March 1 after 24 years of photographing weddings and portraits.

John has photographed more than 1,400 weddings and thousands of portraits in the local and wider community, including the Bishop of Blackburn.

He has become respected for his professionalism and great sense of fun, and fellow photographer Caroline Holden said: “To work with him is both pleasurable and memorable and there can’t be many people locally without a picture of his hanging in their house.”

John told The News that although his business has been successful and he has enjoyed working in the town, he feels it is now time to move on.

He will still be available to photograph weddings and family occasions and his telephone number will remain the same. He said: “I would like to thank all my local customers, many of whom have become friends over the years. It’s been a pleasure and a privilege to have photographed a couple’s wedding, christening of their children, and special occasions over the years. I also want to thank local hoteliers who have also supported me. The shop will be taken on by Andrew McLean and his computer business and I wish him all the best for success in Longridge.”
