TWO new senior staff have been appointed by the Blackburn Diocese of the Church of England.

Ronnie Semley is communications manager, while Kaley Vaughton is the new safeguarding adviser.

Ronnie is an experienced strategic communicator who comes to the diocese, which covers the Garstang and Longridge area, following
11 years at Bolton
Council where he was communications and media manager.

Kaley has a wide range of experience of child protection, with her most recent role involving the assessment and approval of foster carers for the agency Fostering Solutions, which is based in Bolton. She has also worked in a variety of child protection roles for Lancashire County Council.

Diocesan secretary Canon Graeme Pollard said: “Ronnie and Kaley bring a wealth of experience to their important roles.

“As well as improving the ways in which we communicate internally, Ronnie will also help us to tell the story of all the good work which is going on across the church, much of which simply wouldn’t happen if we weren’t here.

“Kaley will strengthen our expertise when it comes to safeguarding.

“We take this work
seriously and we will
support Kaley in ensuring we do our utmost to safeguard vulnerable adults and children in our parishes.

“I look forward to working with both of them in the coming months.”

Ronnie and Kaley both live in Lancashire and will be based at Church House, Blackburn.
