SANTA'S reindeer have taken a short break ahead of their big night pulling Santa's sleigh to set up home on a family farm in Cabus.
The two reindeer Donner and Blitzen are the latest attraction on Old Holly Farm on Cabus Nook Lane, in the lead up to Christmas.
It is the first time the farm has had reindeer to care for and it is hoped they will return each year.
General manager Alison Longton said the female reindeer had settled well into life on the farm, although they had struggled at first with the broad Lancashire accent.
She said: "It was owners of the farm David and Ian, who arranged the arrival of the reindeer and the team have been taking good care of them for the last few weeks.
"They have settled in really well, and although they struggled to understand the thick Lancashire accents at first, they are now used to it!
"They are both quite shy, but are quite content in their new home, and we all love them already!"
The reindeer will be moving into the farm's courtyard and the farm will soon be inviting families to come and meet the new arrivals.
Alison said there are also plans already in place for next year when the farm also hopes to welcome some new additions, she said: "We are hoping that next Christmas they will be expecting, so by 2011 we should have some baby reindeer."
Donner and Blitzen will be moving into the courtyard on December 1 until December 23 but will be back on December 27 until January 5.
