CATTERALL Gala was blessed with superb sunny weather on Saturday.
The procession was the largest ever and everything went to plan and the day rounded off with a family barbecue and disco at the Pickerings.
The committee would like to thank all the local businesses who donated prizes for the raffle, which was won by Gail Robinson.
In his opening address gala president Canon Ron Greenall said: "This is the nugget and gem of our four local events over the May bank holiday week - we believe it is the jewel in the crown - for our queen, residents, distinguished quests and all our visitors especially Grace our new queen.
"The Catterall crest is three gold nuggets set in a sea of tranquility and what a glorious golden day this is weather wise.''
Dignitries in the procession included Mayor and Mayoress of Wyre Coun and Mrs Alan Vincent, Gala President Canon Ron Greenall, Chairman of Catterall Gala committee Marc Lawson, Chairman of Catterall parish council Coun Dave Sharples and his wife Lynn and Catterall parish councillors, along with visiting officials from Garstang and Pilling parish councils, Rev Andrew Wilkinson and crowner Mrs Norma Kirby.
Mrs Kirby crowned her grandaughter and new queen is Grace Piela Kirby, aged 11, a pupil at Kirkland and Catterall School. The new rosebud is Louise Ashton, aged five.
Retiring queen was 12-year-old Eleanor Burford and retiring rosebud was Abigail Burford, aged eight.
The committee would like to thank both sets of judges who did a tremendous job and judges for the fancy dress were Audrey Melia and Denise White.

5 to 7s - 1 Superman - Conner Delany
8 to 11s - 1 Dragon - Christopher Hopkinson, 2 Batman - Kieran Delany
Groups 11 and under - 1 Night at the museum - Katie, Sam and Daniel Garth, 2 Catterall butterflies - Lily and Daisy Rafferty and Gracie Gerrard
Groups 11 and over - 1 Robbing MPs - Victoria and Jack Myerscough, 2 Monsters and aliens - Amelia and Katie Russel, 3 We are the future - Will Russel and Josh Thornber
The Charlotte Cup awarded to the best girl in fancy dress was awarded to Victoria Myerscough
The Stuart Longton Trophy awarded to the best boy in fancy dress was awarded to Daniel Garth
Floats
The judges for the floats were Dianne Clarke and Trish Bugeja
Motorised - 1 Windmill in old Amsterdam - Jelly Beans Nursery; 2 Peter Pan - St Thomas pre-school; 3 Yellow Submarine - Rainbow pre-school
Walking - 1 Bugsy Malone - Catterall Kids; 2 Chinese dragon parade - St Mary and St Michaels; 3 Spanish festival - Garstang Community School.
The Arrow Taxi Trophy for the most original float went to Romans and Gladiators, Nateby School
Football Tournament
After a really fantastic contest the winners were St Thomas', a team they scored a staggering 19 goals to get to final. Garstang Community School were the runners up. The winning team were Adam Phillips, Jordon Hunter, Ellis Hancox, Josh Whitaker, Jake Mower, Ryan Briggs, Scott Hoffstetter and Owen Rimmer were awarded the Brockholes Arms Trophy which was presented by new queen Grace Piela Kirby.
