CLOUDY weather didn't dampen spirits at Scorton Rose Queen Festival on Saturday when the highlight was the crowning of festival queen Jennifer Harriman by Mary Yates and the procession from the village hall.
A spokesman said despite the weather the festival had proved a great day with a record number of helpers and donations. Visiting queens from Cockerham and Calder Vale joined the procession and Pilling Band played.
Children from Scorton School gave a Maypole dancing display.
Other attractions included stalls, tombolas and games.
Fancy dress winners were the Groovy Greeks from Scorton School, with Old MacDonald's Farm from the Toddler Group in second place and Alien Invasion and Three Blind Mice joint third, represented by Scorton After School Club and the Collinson family.
