GARSTANG Unplugged starts their autumn season with an American guest, Buddy Mondlock accompanied by Mike Lindauer.
Buddy Mondlock writes songs so well that some great songwriters have recorded them on their own albums; Guy Clark, Nanci Griffith and Janis Ian, to name a few. But there’s nothing quite like hearing the writer sing them. His third album, Poetic Justice, brought him to wider attention in the UK; Bob Harris began playing the album and he toured here for the first time.
More recently he’s collaborated with the legendary Art Garfunkel, together with Maia Sharp, writing and recording the album ‘The Edge of the World’ and touring all over America and Europe. He’s a gentle outsider in the spirit of Townes Van Zandt. Buddy’s out touring solo again, showcasing the songs as only he can.
Support is from Glyn Shipman, with a set of original songs. It’s all at the Kenlis Arms, Ray Lane, Barnacre, Garstang, on Thursday, September 15.
The music starts at 8.30pm and tickets are £10 from 01995 602795, through our website at www.garstangunplugged.com, or on the door.
