THE Haffner Orchestra held its annual fund-raising event in Garstang for the first time on Saturday.

The orchestra played chamber music at the Garstang Arts Centre from 10am to 12 noon, including Mozart’s little-played horn quintet (written for the unusual combination of French horn, violin, two violas and cello). as well as two groups of string quartets and piano solos, along with other music, and a solo violinist playing outside.

The Haffner’s next concert will be on Saturday, February 11, at the Great Hall at Lancaster University.

Soloist will be Bradley Creswick (violin) and conductor is Justin Doyle.
