The talented Design Platform were joined by guest artists The Make District for their second artisan market last Saturday.
Member Sally Gorton reports a great success as they welcomed the three artists and makers from Lancaster, Lucy Pass, Jenny McCabe and Charlotte Done.
The trio showcased a selection of beautiful and highly original work to sell. They also ran a fabric printing workshop which was thoroughly enjoyed by all who took part.
Gillian Nicholson, of Sewchildlike, exhibited some of the exquisite dolls she makes and, although it was a scorching day, everyone kept their cool and Longridge Station once again proved a very fitting and intimate venue, Sally said.
“We had Bucks Fizz on arrival for visitors, served by our ‘station master’ for the day, Mike Standen, and all our exhibitors contributed examples of their work to a goodie basket, which we raffled-off raising £47 for the Heritage Centre.”
The next Artisan Market will take place on Saturday October 12 from, 10am-4pm at the Old Station, when the design workshop will be a jewellery-making tutorial, delivered by Design Platform’s Lindsay Philipson of Precious Violet. There will be two workshop sessions then, tickets are £15 per person, including materials, reserve byemailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
