A glorious gala day transformed St Michael’s-on-Wyre at the weekend.
Gala chairman Christine Cameron reported: “It was a lovely village day. We had a really good attendance from babies to 90 year olds and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.”
The new Queen Emily Thompson was accompanied by lady-in-waiting Charlotte Phillips and six attendants, aged four to 10.
New this year was a special display of Maypole dancing by pupils from St Michael’s School, who also joined in the parade.
Floats included The Hungry Caterpillar and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Entertainment was also provided by The Boddington Belles morris dancers. DJ Darrel Edwards ensured there was plenty of music to make the party last and children’s entertainer Taz provided some magic moments.
Later in the day the celebrations continued with a duck race, bouncy castle and football contest.
