A SINGING trio have reached the final of a talent contest.
Mellia, from Over Wyre, impressed judges when they took to the stage at the Printworks in Manchester as they hosted PrintworX Factor – a contest for solo artists and groups.
Teenagers Ellie Danson, 15, from Pilling, Melissa Stevens, from Preesall and Ella Coleman from Stalmine, both 17, formed group Mellia 18 months ago.
They are already no strangers to success after recently performing at the 02 arena in London during the final of Open Mic UK in January.
But they are hoping to winthis latest contest after they missed out in the capital.
Ellie said: “I’m delighted we’re in the final.
“The competition was tough and we’re looking forward to the day. We’d love to be crowned the winner of PrintworX Factor and hope everyone can come down and support us.”
The group scored high marks with the judges – which included Hollyoaks actress Holly-Jay Bowes – on stage presence, crowd reaction and overall talent, to book their place in the final.
Fred Booth, the centre director of Printworks, said: “The competition has been tough and it’s great to see all the fantastic talent on offer.
“Mellia should be proud to make it through to the final.”
The final will see Mellia take on seven other acts in the hope of taking home the £500 prize money.
