THE Priory at Scorton, has joined forces with Wyre Council to launch an initiative to welcome more visitors into the area and to promote rural tourism.
The hotel and restaurant is the first rural Wyre tourism business to develop a “local tourist information point” and only the second in the Wyre borough as a whole.
Coun Barry Birch, economy portfolio Holder at Wyre Council, said: “Tourist Information Points are like mini-information centres.
They offer a range of literature promoting local events and attractions and they are designed to help people fully enjoy the area.”
Priory co-owner of the Priory and committee member of Wyre Tourism Association Gary Lee said: “We were keen to support this initiative to make visitors more welcome to the area.
“It fits in with our business philosophy of excellent customer service and we hope that by providing information for visitors, it will keep people in the area longer to spend more in the great the range of facilities in Scorton and local area.”
