A COURAGEOUS woman from Catterall who was paralysed in a motorbike accident has dared to bare all for a new TV series.
Michelle Donald, 40, appeared on Channel 4's 'How to Look Good Naked.... With a Difference' where she joined 10 other people with disabilities to pose for a naked photo-shoot.
The shoot was part of host Gok Wan's latest campaign to break down stereotypes of those with disibilities and help people accept their looks.
Michelle, from Old Lancaster Road, Catterall, who was left paralysed from the waist down when she came off the back of a motorbike on Head Dyke Lane in Pilling in 1996, said she was at first 'terrified' at the prospect of taking her clothes off in front of the nation.
But she said the experience had been well worthwhile.
"I had an email from a friend asking if I would be interested after her husband didn't want to do it.
"The production people asked me to send some pictures of myself and then came back to say that they wanted me on the show and could I meet them in a secret location
"Initially I was terrified at the thought of taking my clothes off in front of a load of strangers but then after taking down the dressing gown, I suddenly thought what a fantastic experience and it really boosted my confidence."
Michelle added that she was proud to have taken part in the show and described style guru Gok Wan as a ''great personality'' who is really passionate about the cause.
"He was completely genuine and what you see on the TV is exactly what you get."
