A JOBS boost could follow a proposed major expansion at a popular Garstang farm shop.
Plans for Bradshaws Farm Shop, Prospect Farm, A6, have been lodged with Wyre Council, and if they are approved it could lead to the creation of more jobs.
Planning agent Mr Raymond Carr says: "It is expected that the extension will generate more business and this will result in the requirement for additional staff to be employed on both a permanent and part-time basis."
If approved the plans would provide a "much needed high quality retail shopping and storage area, and additional office, staff room, toilet, food preparation area and storage space."
In his application Mr Carr says: "An extension is now considered a vital necessity if the business is to expand and support its continual growth."
Bradshaw's Farm Shop is a family business that has been established for more than 30 years.
The business is keen to try a new variety of lines, but there is currently no room available. The majority of the new lines would be sourced from local suppliers, and a few new home-grown products may be introduced.
An on-site toilet will be made available for both staff and customers.
The current parking area is considered to be sufficient to cope with the extra trade which will be generated.
