BUSINESSES which have brought thousands of tourists into Garstang and district were rewarded at the annual awards ceremony of Wyre Tourism Association.
The prize for the event of the year went to the Garstang Partnership for organising the largest hotpot in the world event last autumn.
The hot pot, made by TV foodie Loyd Grossman and army volunteers attracted international publicity and recognition by the Guinness Book of Records.
GP spokeswoman Angela Kershaw said: "It is fantastic that Garstang is getting recognised for the hard work it has put in to all kinds of events, and is able to showcase quality local produce in such a diverse way!"
The excellence in rural tourism award went to Old Holly Farm, Forton, which stood out for its innovation in farm diversification.
Margaret Richardson of Little Stubbins Bed and Breakfast received the Warmth of Welcome award.
She was commended for the warmth of welcome provided at her B and B in Claughton.
The excellence in visitor facilities award went to the Cartford Country Hotel, Little Eccleston. The venue underwent a major refurbishment during 2007,
The Scorton-based Wyresdale Wheels for All project, which has brought Tramper vehicles to Bowland, was also among the winners, taking the excellence in access award.
The Sawn's Rest self-catering accommodation at Singleton was awarded the environmental award for creating new wildlife habitats.
Other awards: Blackpool Transport; Cleveleys Seafront Partnership; Mick Grewcock (tourism ambassador); The Royal Venue, Cleveleys and Freeport at Fleetwood.
Wyre's tourism boss Tom Pridmore said: "Investing in visitor facilities is key to quality tourism and it's a message that is being heard loud and clear, as this year's excellence winners have all proved."
* It is the second honor for the Wheels for All projects, as its backers, Wyre Council, has recently been awarded the 'recognising diversity' prize in the North West Employers' Awards for the introduction of the Tramper, an all-terrain electric buggy that's tough enough to cope with rough ground, mud, grass and the wildest of locations.
Wyre Council has made the Trampers free to hire throughout the countryside areas and the project has been a huge success.
Judges were told that by combining the Tramper with special risk-assessed Tramper Trails at Scorton and Bowland, disabled people now had the chance to experience tops of hills and more challenging countryside alongside friends and family.
