Teenager gets four years for rape
A TEENAGER has been sent onto youth custody for four years after being convicted of rape.
Stuart Gibson carried out the attack in the girl's home, (Preston Crown Court was told.
Gibson took advantage of the teenager's drunken state, said a judge.
The defendant, 19, formerly of Forton, near Lancaster, now of St John's Avenue, Pilling, had denied the charge but was convicted by a jury after a trial.
His barrister, Julian Holt, told the court he had no previous convictions of any kind and a good work record.
Because of the case his family have had to move from the area.
A background report had said he was "naive and irresponsible," added Mr Holt.
Judge Norman Wright told Gibson: "She said no but you did not take no for an answer."
As well as the four-year term in youth custody Gibson was told he would be on the sex offenders register for life.
