Bilsborrow will be blooming as hundreds of green-fingered and artistic exhibitors descend on the village hall this weekend for the annual show.

Organisers of the 57th Bilsborrow and District Flower, Produce and Handicraft Show are hoping to re-create the success of previous events with incredible displays of flowers, vegetables, cakes, jams and chutneys.

Last year’s show attracted more than 650 entries, chairman Margery Stuart said: “It is a very nice afternoon and well-supported, which is what helps to keep these shows going.

“Already we have some good numbers on entries but it never hurts to have a few more. “

Doors open at 2pm on Saturday August 15 at the village hall off the A6 and an auction will follow the trophy presentations

Admission on the day will be adults 50p and children 10p.

The committee will continue to take entries for the sections until Thursday August 13, the village hall will be open from 7pm.

Special prizes include the Bilsborrow Cup, St Hilda’s Cup, the Duncombe Rosebowl and Walling Trophy.
