Local pubs have been praised by the latest edition of The Good Beer Guide.
Among those to get a nod from the guide to top pubs were the Th’Owd Tihebarn and the Horns.
The O’wd Tithebarn at Church Street, Garstang, is given a mention with the reviewer impressed by the “big terrace overlooking Lancaster Canal marina and narrow boats; lots of cartwheels, rustic lamps, horse tack and a fine old kitchen range”.
The Horns at Goosnargh is said to have “a relaxed atmosphere, neatly kept carpeted rooms with log fires, popular food from pub standards to local duck and pheasant”.
The Cartford, at Little Eccleston, got a special mention, being described as an “attractively refurbished 17th century coaching inn in a pretty position on a riverbank.”
The 2014 Good Pub Guide has become a national institution.
It identifies the country’s premier watering holes followign inspections from its writers and input from readers.
