Lancashire County Council’s Volunteer Service wants people to think about helping someone else by volunteering.
Supporting a vulnerable or isolated person can be as simple as a weekly visit for a cup of tea and a chat. Or if the person is more active, the volunteer could help with activities away from the home, such as going walking or swimming or a trip to the library.
Volunteers can help by offering the support of a friendly face and a regular routine to help boost physical and mental health, and to relieve some of the pressure felt by families and unpaid carers.
