STAFF at Garstang YMCA are pulling on their running shoes for a charity run in memory of a much loved colleague.

Pat Green who worked at the leisure centre for 20 years died in March from breast cancer.

The brave mum was diagnosed with the disease in March 2008 but after gruelling chemotherapy had started to recover.

But the cancer returned last year and Pat lost her fight for life only months later.

A team now plan to complete a 200km run to help raise money for cancer charity Croston House who supported Pat and her family through her illness. The run, which is open to all, is on Sunday August 14. It is £3 to enter and people can either walk or run a minimum pledge of 2km. Call the centre 01995 605410
