A Garstang charity shop hit the right note when it
offered a vintage piano for sale.
The St John’s hospice shop, on High Street, has in the past sold such old fashioned delights as a wind up gramophone and Victorian and Edwardian wardrobes.
But this piano, with pop-up lid and carved legs, proved an outstanding attraction to would be customers.
The Chappell instrument dated from 1951 -60 and came with a bag of music.
Shop manager Tim Sutcliffe said: “It had obviously been someone’s pride and joy.
Within hours of it going on display a lot of interest had been expressed and it sold for £350.
