There was no nodding off at Winmarleigh CE Primary School this week as school council members organised a ‘pyjama day’.

All children and staff supported the event by attending school in their nightwear and donated money for the cause.

Meanwhile, children from Rainbows Pre-School held a teddy bears picnic as their contribution to the event.

And in Longridge, Pudsey Bear took time off from his travels to join 11 year old Lauren Harrison and Kayleigh-Jo Cooper and helped them raise a massive £130 for Children in Need.

The friends, both pupils at Longridge High School, had set up a stall at Sunday’s car boot sale in the Civic Hall, and sold cakes they had made themselves plus items donated by family and friends.

They thanked everyone who had supported their fundraiser for making it such a success.
