A man who smashed a sports car into a Volvo when nearly three times over the drink drive limit then drove off has been banned from the road for 42 months.

Graham Quick, 40, of Cumeragh Lane, Whittingham, near Preston, crashed his Mercedes SLK in Inglewhite Road, Longridge, on August 17 this year.

Preston Magistrates’ Court heard Quick had consumed so much alcohol the proportion of it in his breath was 103 microgrammes per 100 millitres. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Quick, who pleaded guilty to drink driving, was disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for three and a half years.

Magistrates fined him £830 and ordered him to pay a victim surcharge of £83, plus £85 court costs.

Quick also admitted failing to stop and driving away from the scene of the accident, which caused damage to the Volvo C30.

Magistrates ordered him to pay nearly £1,000 in court fines .
