D-day looming for Preesall travellers’ last-ditch home bid

Travellers who illegally set up home on land in Preesall are expected to see their bid for planning permission to remain on the site refused again.

Patrick Dundon is making a last-ditch attempt to secure planning permission for the site, south of Lancaster Road, where the family has laid out eight pitches and stationed caravans.

Wyre’s planning committee will meet this afternoon at Wyre Civic Centre, Poulton to make a decision on proposals with recommendations to refuse permission.

The family are expected to leave the site by November 4 in order to comply with an enforcement notice issued by Wyre Council and upheld by a Government planning inspector.

The notice was issued in October 2010.

In November last year the Dundon family failed in a High Court bid to appeal .
