Garstang-based cheesemaker Dewlay had a unprecedented “three from three” success at the Great Yorkshire Show.

The firm picked up hard fought gold awards in all three categories of Lancashire Cheese – creamy, crumbly
and tasty.

This was the first time in recent memory when the family owned dairy had come out on top in all three categories and was one of the highlights of the dairy’s year so far.

Roger Taylor, head cheesemaker at Dewlay, said: “This is just fantastic news for the team here at Dewlay, who have been working hard to ensure that our customers are treated to the very best Lancashire cheese. Winning awards like this makes the hard work worth it.”

The awards from the Great Yorkshire Show at Harrogate,
comes in what is already a busy and successful year for Dewlay during which it has launched its new product – Garstang White – to the market and had its blue cheese – Garstang Blue – chosen
to feature on the menu at the British Golf Open.

Dewlay managing director
Nick Kenyon said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the recent successes we’ve achieved.

“It’s fantastic for the team here and shows that hard work always pays off.”
