Will you be gunged? Get wet?The Dick and Dom Live show will be unleashed at Preston’s Charter Theatre on Friday August 18, with madcap challenges and audience games. The duo, who are famed for their mischievous antics, hope to bring the chaos usually reserved for screen to the stage in their new live show.Keen to create a sense of rivalry and showmanship, the audience will compete against each other in Dick v Dom.Dom said: “This is a show we have been doing for several years and it is an absolute riot. We perform it everywhere.“Our favourite bit about it is Dick v Dom where we split the crowd in half, with each part representing either Dick or myself.“We have interactive games, where the audience teams win points. It is like a boxing match to see who is the ultimate winner.“You never know who is going to win each round. We have a referee who can keep us honest.“It is great fun as you never know who is going to win. Oh, and there is a bit of mess too.“It is great comedy for children, parents and grandparents.“The children go crazy. By the end of the show they are jumping off their seats.“It is great to do an interactive show. You know there is a time line of a child’s concentration.“They will struggle to sit down for an hour - and to be honest it is not much different for an adult.“But if you are involving people and making them feel part of the show, you won’t lose them.”The pair have visited the city previously when filming an episode or two of Dick & Dom in da Bungalow and can’t wait to meet Preston’s youngsters.Dom added: “The crowd was fantastic last time. I am sure they will be up for it.”Dick and Dom, also known by their Sunday names of Richard McCourt and Dominic Wood, are celebrating 20 years as a double act and they have loved every minute of it.Dom said: “Children are the most wonderful audience as they are non-judgemental and non-cynical. They just enjoy everything you do.“It is great seeing the look of wonder in their eyes and there is nothing better than helping to take a child’s mind off things. “Being able to make a child laugh and forget it all is a wonderful and rewarding job.”The duo have built a diverse portfolio of programming across different genres including the double BAFTA winning Dick & Dom in Da Bungalow, Diddy TV and The Legend of Dick & Dom (which received BAFTA nominations for all three series). Their science entertainment show Absolute Genius with Dick & Dom, which they won the BAFTA for best presenters, is now filming its fifth series.Tickets, from £13.20, are now on sale at www.dickndom.co.uk.
