An art exhibition at the University of Central Lancashire’s (UCLan) PR1 Gallery aims to demonstrate the importance of colour and the influence it can have on our moods and wellbeing.

Drawn to Colour can be seen until November 30, at the PR1 Gallery in Preston, and is open to the public.

The exhibition aims to demonstrate the fact that colour is a crucial part of our lives and can mean different things for different people.

Staff at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Guild Park site in Whittingham have been working with service users to design pieces of artwork for the exhibition.

Margaret Ogunlokun, lead cccupational therapist at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, said: “One thing I’ve learnt is that the power of colour should never be underestimated.

“The exhibition shows how colour is communicated in mental health, and how colours mean different things to different people.

“It also so looks at relationships and the importance of colour in different cultures.”
