It has been challenging and rewarding, I haven’t a moment of regret.

Carl joined the Royal Navy in November last year for the opportunity to travel coupled with good career prospects.

Originally from Sleaford, but now living in Garstang, where parents Paula and André still live, the former University of Lancaster student commented on his time in the Navy so far: “It has been challenging and rewarding, I haven’t a moment of regret. I look forward to serving on the new Aircraft Carrier and sailing onboard the Navy’s Flagship.”

Whilst on course, Carl took part in Op Trafalgar, a disaster relief humanitarian exercise. His service career choice will see Carl follow in the footsteps of his father who served in the RAF for 22 years. Following graduation he will join his first ship HMS Queen Elizabeth.

Onboard Carl will become a central member of the Ship’s Engineering Branch, entrusted to operate highly sensitive radio and satellite systems as well as ensuring the equipment remains fully functional 24 hours a day.
