Children at Fleetwood’s Charity CE Primary School, Preesall, have dedicated themselves to helping children less fortunate than themselves this Christmas.

They collected no less than 62 shoeboxes full of Christmas presents and passed them on to be taken to Eastern Europe as part of the Samaritan’s Purse initiative.

Headteacher John Belshire said: “I spoke to the children who had put boxes together and they said ‘If you make someone smile, it makes you smile too, and even though we won’t meet the children we know they
will be smiling when they open their presents’.

“Supporting the shoebox appeal is one way that we can help our children understand a bit more about the wider world.”
