Garstang lady farmers raise £2,000 for charity

Garstang Ladies National Farmers Union (NFU) are celebrating after raising a huge sum of cash for two Lancashire charities.

The group, through various fundraising activities, raised £2,000 during the past year and chose Cancer Research UK Great Eccleston Branch and Derrian House Children’s Hospice as the places to donate to.

A cheque for £1,000 each was presented to the Great Eccleston Branch and the Chorley charity on Chancery Road by, from left, Phyllis Benson, group secretary, Jane Peters from Cancer Research UK, Elizabeth Cookson, the club’s president, Joanne from Derrian House and Jean Wadsworth, club treasurer.
