It’s getting time to go to market again –the Garstang Country Market.

The popular weekly market, formerly known as Garstang WI market, re-opens after its winter break on Thursday, March 7. They have now moved permanently to the Garstang Sports and Social Club. The new venue is a great success.

The market is held every Thursday between 10am and 12 noon when a wide range of quality home-produced baking, jams, handicrafts, plants, fruit, vegetables and flowers are for sale. Coffee and tea is served from 9.30am.

Ben Andrews, who sells his produce at the market said: “Many regular customers enjoy meeting in the friendly atmosphere.

“They enjoy a chat over a cuppa and homemade cake or biscuit, often to be joined by tourists and day trippers to the town.

“We are very well aware that , small as it is, the market proves a steady extra attraction to the town, with some regulars coming quite a long way to sample its wares.”

Free parking available outside the hall which is on Lancaster Road near to L.B.T. Motors. Look out for the signs and balloons!
