Garstang’s annual Walking Festival starts on Saturday May 10 and runs to May 18.
This year’s theme is “Bowland to Bay” and organisers say it is an opportunity to, “Celebrate springtime in Garstang, rural Wyre, the Forest of Bowland and along the Lancaster Canal.”
With walks designed to suit all abilities and age groups it is predicted there will be something to appeal to everyone.
Information leaflets can be collected from, and bookings made at, the Visit Garstang Centre on Cherestanc Square, Garstang.
The varied walks will showcase moorland wildlife, uplands, local history and areas along wetlands and coast.
The Festival is organised by Wyre Council and the Friends of Garstang Walking Festival.
This year’s theme has been selected to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Forest of Bowland being designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)
