Have your say on Vic hospital
Would you recommend Blackpool Victoria Hospital’s services to a family or friend?
That’s the question patients from two watrds and the emergency department are being asked to answer in a pilot survey this week
What the NHS is dubbing the ‘Friends and Family Test’ is being trialled at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, ahead of the national roll out of the scheme in April.
All patients treated on wards 15(A&B) and 16 this week, and in the Emergency Department next week will be asked, via a text message, when they leave the hospital as to whether they would recommend the hospital’s services to a friend or relative.
Patients can text back rating their experience using an “extremely likely” to “not at all likely” scale. They can also send a written comment explaining what is working well and what is not in the hospital.
Paul Jebb, acting assistant director of nursing and patient experience manager at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said: “The data gathered from the Friends and Family Test will provide a much broader view of the care we provide, and help us and our patients find out how we compare with other hospitals across the region.”
