A special “Bridging The Gap” project is aiming to help those suffering hearing loss in Stalmine, Garstang and Knott End.
Charity Caritas Care says it can provide free support and advice for older people dealing with hearing loss. Advice includes help with wearing hearing aids and with problems with equipment, tube replacement and battery changes.
The next monthly drop in sessions, free for those with NHS hearing aids, are at St James’ church hall, Hall Gate Lane, Stalmine on Monday May 11 from 10am to 12 noon, Over Wyre at Knott End Library, Lancaster Road on Tuesday May 12 from 1.30pm -3pm and Garstang Library, Windsor Road on Wednesday May 20 from 10am to 12 noon.
The project, which has helped more than 3,500 people in Lancashire and Cumbria over the past 20 years can offer home visits across Bowland and Ribble Valley. It is also looking for a venue for drop-ins in Longridge.
Duncan Richardson, Project Development Officer said: ““The feeling that I get from helping someone to hear is indescribable. You are able to witness the change you are making to someone’s life. We’re currently growing our drop-ins and if you’d like any more information we would love to hear from you”
