Police are appealing for witnesses after a six-year-old girl from Pilling was knocked over as she crossed the road in Preesall on Thursday, January 31, just after 4pm.

Police say the girl stepped off a bus on Sandy Lane at the junction with Fordstone Avenue and walked around the back of the bus before stepping out into the road where she was a collision with an oncoming Hyundai Amica.

The child is in Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in a
serious but stable condition.

Police want witnesses, particularly the driver of a small saloon car which was behind the bus at the time, to contact them on 101.
