Jobs boost as care firm expands

Helping the elderly and needy in their own homes within the Ribble Valley is the prime objective of the Alston Lodge Community Care team .

Now, with its head office in Longridge at the residential home, it is to cover new geographical regions.

According to director Pam Hooghkirk, it will mean more people who want to remain in their own homes can have the support, service and care required.

She added: “It means they will maintain their dignity, privacy and independence.”

She said the expansion would create more jobs across the area, adding: “We will be looking to recruit new care workers to the team who will all receive an intense training programme, together with a detailed induction to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to provide the high standards of service the agency prides itself on.”

New areas covered will be Blackburn, Mellor, Wilpshire, Langho, Feniscowles, Pleasington, Beardwood, Osbaldeston, Balderstone, and all surrounding areas, plus Broughton and adjacent areas. The services offered cover all aspects of personal and domestic care, together with the delivery of lunches and teas made in the kitchen’s of the residential home.

Pam added: “This is a very exciting time for the team and the business, as we plan to expand the services we offer in the community into new areas and help even more clients to live safely and securely in their own, familiar surroundings.”
