UFO experts around the globe have been alerted to the sighting of an unidentified flying object over rural Wyre.
The object, spotted on Friday and Saturday, August 7 and 8, was seen by about 15 people at Claylands caravan site in Cabus.
Witnesses variously spoke of a big, orange ball in sky or a fiery pyramid-shaped object.
One of the first to witness the object was Wigan builder Dennis Fisher, who was leaving the Claylands club shortly before midnight with a group of friends late Friday night.
He said the UFO was hovering over the Myerscough area before suddenly veering off towards Bleasdale.
He said: "It was like a pyramid, but flat on top, like a ball of flame. It must have been 50 to 75 yards across. I don't know what it was."
Mr Fisher told fellow caravan owners at the club about the incident the following night and, he says, endured "quite a bit of ribbing''.
But several of those teasing him were also to see strange lights in the sky a few hours later, including Tony Mulhare of Appletonthorne, Cheshire, who has a caravan on the site.
He said: "Dennis told us about it and we had a laugh, then we saw it too when we were leaving the club.
"It was a big orange ball about helicopter height. It seemed to be coming towards us, and then it veered left."
The UFO was also seen by Mr Mulhare's wife, Pauline, son-in-law Paul Sigley and grandchildren Jack, nine, Ben, seven and Joe, 5.
Mr Mulhare said: "The children were frightened. They usually sleep in a tent outside the caravan but that night they wanted to sleep inside the caravan."
Three other witnesses, Deanne Fieldhouse, Louise Binnall and Michelle Simpson reported the siting to the British UFO spotting website UK-UFO.
They said: "It was definitely not a helicopter or plane as there was no noise. It also hovered and moved in ways coventional aircraft can't.
"It is the first time we have ever seen anything like this and now we are convinced there are UFOs."
