Claughton-on-Brock Parish Council has issued an appeal for information about “forgotten” comrades who served in the two world wars.
The council is keen to bring local records up to date as it prepares to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.
Clerk John Hallas explained: “We have a small memorial near the church and we want to make sure we remember everyone who needs to be remembered.”
He said the council had no firm plans to mark the centenary as yet, but does wish to commemorate the anniversary in some way.
He added: “We would like to hear from families who have in the past or currently live in the parish and have had relatives in the first or second war, so we can get the records up to date.”
He said the records had not been amended since 1920 when the local roll of honour was created.
