A group of dedicated Garstang volunteers are to be honoured with a royal thank- you when Princess Anne makes an official visit to the town next month.
The Princess is making a trip to the Save the Children charity shop in Market Street to thank the workers for their continued hard work.
Regional manager Diane Heaton said the royal visit would be a wonderful boost for the shop, which is run by volunteers, and help raise its profile.
Princess Anne, who has been the charity’s president for over 30 years is expected to arrive in Garstang on Friday November 8 at around 1.30pm.
It is understood she will unveil a special plaque at the shop to mark the occasion. From Garstang she will travel to the Save the Children shop in Sharoe Green Lane, Preston.
Garstang’s Save the Children store is one of the few shops across the country to have a dedicated bridal boutique.
Princess Anne’s last official visit to the Garstang area was for the opening of Barton Grange Garden Centre in 2008.
