IT’S certainly true that for some the eyes are bigger than the belly.

But even for someone with the sweetest tooth it would be hard to polish off a 334kg sticky toffee pudding.

Shoppers in Garstang were given a taste of bakers Farmhouse Fare’s creation when the firm took kits world record breaking dessert to the town’s Booths over the weekend.

The Clitheroe-based team, who now hold the Guinness World Record for the largest sticky toffee pudding after beating the previous 200kg record, were selling portions of the giant dessert to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

From sales and donations for samples of the pudding at Garstang and Clitheroe stores they raised £6,262 for the charity.

A spokesperson for Farmhouse Fare said: “It was a fun day, we raised a great amount of money for charity and were really pleased.

“It made the whole event worthwhile.”
