Garstang’s Artroom Gallery’s Autumn exhibition, “Out There”, has brought together three talented Northern artists.

Will Barton and Katie Hampson, both painters, are local to the area. The gallery also welcomes back Lindsey Tyson, a textile artist and felt maker from the east coast.

The new exhibition features Will’s collection of atmospheric, semi-abstract, original paintings inspired by the countryside surrounding his Silverdale home.

Katie, 21, is a young artist from Wyre who graduated this year from Bolton University. She has already gained many accolades and featured in four London exhibitions, including three in The Mall galleries.

The first time she exhibited with the Society of Women Artists she was awarded the prestigious Editor’s Choice Prize by The Artist magazine.

Animals are favourite subjects, depicted in a unique way via watercolour washes, with details brought to life with mixed media.

Lindsey, a textile artist from Scarborough, returns with felt pictures of landscapes delicately hand printed with trees and plants.

The gallery, at 15 High Street, also has some of Lindsey’s hand felt “pebbles” made from merino fibres and hand printed with butterflies, dragonflies, flowers and hares.

l “Out There” runs until Tuesday, October 28. For more information, visit www.artroomgallery.co.uk
