Mayor praises golden pupils

editorial image

Forton Primary School pupils Jamie Gardner and James Physick, plus Forton in Bloom workers Mrs Parker and Mrs Riley, represented the school when they met the Mayor of Wyre at the Civic Centre in Poulton to receive the school’s 2012 Gold award for the school garden.

The Mayor asked about Forton’s
gardening activities last year and congratulated the pupils on their excellent efforts.

Children were shown the council chambers and had the opportunity to ask the Mayor questions regarding his role.

Jamie Gardner thanked the Mayor for allowing the school to visit and look around the corridors of power.

Mrs Riley said it had been a pleasure to meet two such well mannered and polite children.

The visit has encouraged children to begin planning for planting and working hard again in the school garden next term.
