Would-be engineers stepped outside the classroom for a maths lesson ‘Gangnam Style.’
The BAE Systems Technology Roadshow visited Saint Aidan’s Technology College in Pressall for an interactive day of maths and science with a difference.
Year Seven students got hands on with a series of team problem-solving games.
They tackled maths in a fun and informative way, and they remembered the Fibonacci sequence by singing along to Psy’s number one hit, Gangnam Style.
The roadshow is designed to inspire young people in subjects including science, technology, engineering and maths.
Joanne Rossall, teaching and learning co-ordinator in technology at the college, said all the students had enjoyed the team challenges immensely.
She said: “The experience was invaluable to all of our Year Seven students.
“They were taught that maths can be lots of fun and also that we use it in the most everyday ways, almost without realising it.”
