A French sports student who couldn’t find anywhere in his home country to study golf is now well on the way to a qualification at Myerscough College after moving more than a thousand miles from home to study.
Hugo Chaillan couldn’t find a suitable Golf Studies course in France so searched the internet for alternatives before coming across Myerscough’s Golf Management course.
The 21-year-old is now on the second year of his Foundation Degree in the subject, under the guidance of Course Leader, Rick Daniels.
Hugo hails from the French Riviera, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, in the South West of France. With nowhere in his native country to study golf, he was forced to look elsewhere in his quest to study the sport he loves.
He said: ‘’There are specialist sport colleges in France, but they are designed more for people wanting to move into the professional game.
“This wasn’t quite right for me and golf isn’t all that popular in France anyway. ’
“The college near where I live had also pulled the golf studies course they did offer, so the UK seemed the perfect choice. So, I searched online and Myerscough seemed the best place to come.’’
Hugo says he’s loving his time here so far.
He added:‘’If you are passionate about something, even if you are from another country, you should go for it. I did and it’s been amazing. I love the course.”
hey are dedicated to helping me do my best.”
