Children at St Mary’s school at Claughton held a Poppy Picnic to raise funds for the Royal British Legion.

The Poppy Picnic was held in excellent weather and the children enjoyed their food in the school grounds along with parents and friends of the school. The school has previously supported Paul Robinson who in September will be taking part in the Poppy Ride from London to Paris. This will be the Legion’s 18th annual Pedal to Paris and is the only charity ride to be escorted into the French capital by police outriders.

The money will be used to help the Royal British Legion in their work looking after service personnel and families.
